Publisher, hosting and personal data

WA War Room is published and controlled by Fabien Lanselle, acting as a private individual in France. Hosting is planned with Scaleway in France. Brevo, in France, processes transactional email.

This instance must not be opened to the public until dedicated contact details and the legally required publisher and hosting addresses have been supplied and reviewed.

What data is used and why

The service uses an account email, a display name, game data linked to a pseudonym, and a functional audit trail linked to internal identifiers. The legal bases are the contract needed to provide the service and legitimate interest for security, the audit trail and internal team statistics.

A team may also record an opponent's pseudonym, faction, detachment and army list for an event. These details are visible only to that team. Staff can delete them while editing is still permitted, but no automatic post-event purge exists: the post-event retention period has not yet been decided. A player without an account must contact that team's staff to exercise a right over those details.

No sensitive data, IP address or user-agent is stored. There is no advertising, profiling, analytics or third-party tracking. The only browser cookie is the session cookie required to sign in, so no consent banner is used.

Recipients, retention and security

Account and game data is limited to the members of the teams concerned. Scaleway hosts the service and Brevo receives the minimum details needed to send transactional email. No transfer outside the European Union is planned.

An account that has never joined a team is erased 30 days after it is created. An inactivity reminder is due after 34 months and the account is erased after 36 months. Invitations expire after 30 days, verification tokens after 15 minutes, and backups are kept for 14 days. Historical game facts may remain under legitimate interest only after names, email and copied display names have been pseudonymised.

A suspected personal-data breach is assessed and, where required, reported to the CNIL within 72 hours. Affected people are informed when the risk is high.

Your rights

The Profile page provides access and portability through a JSON export, rectification of the global display name, and self-service erasure. Erasure revokes access and pseudonymises retained game history. You may also object to processing and lodge a complaint with the CNIL.

Contact is also required for questions or opposition requests. The dedicated contact details are part of the release blocker stated above and must be published before any public opening.

You must be at least 15 years old to use WA War Room.
